Nice old (early C16th) pub with masses of character, friendly staff, & a good range of local (within Cornwall) real ales & local-ish (within the West Country) ciders. Warm, comfy rooms & Gary (owner/cook) does good breakfasts.Was there the weekend they had their Christmas party with live music & the place was packed & rocking. Chatting with the locals it was really nice to hear them saying how pleased they were that after years of indifferent ownership they now had landlords who were running it properly.
Lovely old proper drinking pub. Gary who runs it is both cheerful, friendly and encourages music! Have spent some lovely evenings there this year. Highly recommended.
Visited this place a few times this week whilst on holiday from Liverpool. Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Staff and locals really friendly. Great selection of Gin's, great price (We enjoyed sampling them). Shanti night is not to be missed. Lovely authentic Cornish fun . The pub is maintained so beautifully! Such a comfortable friendly place.
